On-Site Acupressure Massage (ITEC option available)

Note: Candidates for On-Site Massage must undertake relevant assignments and case studies

On-Site Acupressure Massage involves a range of techniques from Eastern and Western traditions, which are suitable for pvodiving short but effective massage treatments to people in a range of different settings. On-Site Massage is often used by companies as part of their stress management programmes for staff, but it is also suitable for use at exhibitions, shows and other public settings. On-Site Massage involves using a specific on-site massage chair, which allows the client to relax whilst receiving a clothed treatment.

Upon completion of this course, you will be a professional On-Site Massage therapist and will be able to gain insurance to practice upon the general public and professional memberships.

You will be required to complete a number of case studies, which means that your friends and family will be able to experience and benefit from this relaxing therapy whilst you train.

Candidates for the ITEC option will be awarded the ITEC Level 3 Certificate On-Site Massage.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Provide a professional On-Site Massage treatment to a client using a range of techniques which include traditional massage and acupressure
  • Conduct a professional consultation suitable for an on-site working session
  • How to set up your on-site massage chair to ensure a comfortable position for your client
  • Devise a treatment programme for the corporate setting
  • Understand contraindications and how to adapt a treatment for specific conditions
  • Be able to adapt your treatment length from 10 - 30 minutes as appropriate
  • Understand more about how stress impacts wellbeing
  • Have an appreciation of postural awareness whilst working to protect your own body and hands
  • Be able to offer clients practical stress management support

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to practice in a number of different settings:
In your own private practice, as a self-employed practitioner
In a salon, health club, spa or hotel
